The Poetry of Kim Valiquette, age 15
If one roves.
In places dear.
Like wilderness.
That is near.
Yosemite is.
A place like this.
Close to home.
You can’t miss.
Sight’s are clear.
In Yosemite.
Path’s lead.
To unending beauty.
Sky’s are blue.
Blue and clear.
With trees green.
And many dear.
Flowers bloom.
Snow will fall.
Life moves on.
After all.
But in Yosemite.
Time seems not.
Past the waterfall.
In your heart.
I take a walk
Right in my dream
I dream of a place
That I have seen
A place that’s been
And still is
One of the best
That’s ever been
I have seen
It many times
And yet I’m young
Still in my prime
And yet I know
It’s not a dream
This place is called
Yosemite

My Dear Friend
You are a special person. I keep in my heart
Even when you're so far away you're close in my heart
I know so much that this is true
Even though at times you've made me blue
You are my dear friend that's close to my heart
And I hope this dear friendship will never fall apart
I taught my cat to play the piano, to write to read to sing soprano
I taught my cat to sew and plow
and my cat taught me how to meow
